Shore Excursions Offered by Carnival Cruise Lines

When it comes to a cruise with Carnival, not only would you be thrilled with all the onboard activities, shows, programs, and adventures but also the shore excursions.  Executives with Carnival have carefully chosen the types of activities it offers passengers at each port of call, choosing those that would be most appealing, safe, and affordable.  All of the excursion providers that work with Carnival are highly professional so services are reliable.  Then, with so many different excursions from which to choose, there is something for every passenger interested in going to shore.

We wanted to provide some examples of the excursions you could choose from when taking a cruise with Carnival.  Just remember, the information below is just a very small sampling of opportunities with Carnival.

•    Bahamas – On Grand Cayman, you can take a guide boat with other people visiting the island to Stingray Island, also called Stingray City.  In the middle of the ocean water is a sandbar, which allows you to stand up and walk or snorkel.  Using squid provided by the tour guides, you literally have the opportunity to swim among a large number of young and mature stingray, allowing them to eat right out of your hand.

•    Bermuda – At King’s Wharf, the entire family could enjoy taking a scenic tour to some of the island’s most popular attractions to include a large aquarium, cave exploration, and snorkeling.

•    Canada/New England – The coastal kayak and lobster bake excursion is for passengers of Carnival Cruise Line six years of age and older.  Available along the Saint John River, you would have the chance to see some of the native birds, paddle a kayak down the river, and then participate in an official New England lobster bake right on the pristine beach.

•    Mexican Riviera – In La Paz, a variety of shore excursions are available.  For instance, you could take a guided tour of Todos Santos or the historical city of La Paz, take an artisan tour, visit the El Serpentario Reptile Center and Cactus Nursery, or even learn to scuba dive.

•    Glacier Bay – While on an Alaskan Carnival cruise, you could visit the Juneau port of call and visit the Glacier Gardens, take a tour of the Alaska Brewing Company, enjoy a cultural salmon bake, go on a nighttime boat ride to watch for whale, or even take a helicopter to Mendenhall for a dog sledding experience.

•    Transatlantic – When visiting Grand Turk, which is just one of the many ports of call for the Carnival transatlantic cruises, you could go on a four-wheel drive safari, go biking or snorkeling, enjoy blue water fishing, or even become a certified scuba diver.

•    Panama Canal – This Carnival Cruise Line destination also provides a number of different shore excursions such as those at the Cartagena, Colombia port of call.  As an example, you could book an excursion for the La Popa Monastery and Gold Museum, visit the Villa-Babilla Reptile Sanctuary, or take a tour of various historical regions.

•    Caribbean – Carnival cruise ships travel to eastern, western, and southern areas of the Caribbean.  The following are some examples of shore excursions for each of these different regions:

o    Eastern Caribbean – In San Juan Puerto Rico, the Bioluminescence Bay Kayak Tour is a popular choice, as is day and nighttime horseback riding, museum tours, a nightfall canopy tour, sunset walking tour, and learning to Rumba at San Carlos.
o    Southern Caribbean – For St. Lucia in the West Indies, you might consider an exhilarating zip line adventure over the rainforest canopy, a four-wheel drive tour along the beach, a catamaran trip to the Pitons, or a warm, relaxing mineral bath.
o    Western Caribbean – While visiting Montego Bay Jamaica, shore excursions such as the Appleton Estate rum tour, trekking up Dunns River Falls, taking a camel ride, or a dune buggy or four-wheel drive safari are all excellent considerations.
