Palawan
Located in the Philippines, Palawan is comprised of a set of islands. Palau
We also wanted to add Palau to our list of favorite exotic vacation destinations, an island with a long history, rich culture, and unrivaled ecological diversity. Located in Oceania, the beaches and waters of the Pacific Ocean serve as the perfect backdrop for the island itself. Local cuisine consists of Asian/Polynesian dishes and accommodations range from simple cottages to five-star resorts. Although the average temperature year round is 80 degrees, short bouts of rainfall provide relief while enhancing the beauty of flora and fauna native to the island.
Seychelles
Another excellent possibility is Seychelles. Situated just off the coast of Africa, Seychelles offers excellent seclusion, as well as numerous activities and adventures. The beaches are gorgeous, hotels and resorts are staffed by true professionals ready to pamper, and the food is simply wonderful. Although Seychelles has a warm tropical climate throughout the year, keep in mind that this destination sits within the typhoon belt so from November to April the island receives significant rainfall.
Jukkasjarvi
To show you how diverse exotic vacation destinations can be, consider this Sweden location. Every year, highly skilled professionals use more than 10,000 tons of ice coming from the Tome River to rebuilt The Ice Hotel. Completely made from ice, even the beds and other furniture, you may think of this being a cold and miserable experience but in truth, the hotel is charming, unique, and very comfortable.
Egypt
Another non-tropical option for an exotic vacation is any number of destinations in Egypt. Of course, most people spend a lot of time investigating various pyramids but in addition to this, each destination within Egypt has different characteristics and therefore, different experiences. For instance, a trip to Alexandria would put you by the Mediterranean Sea while the large city of Cairo is energetic and quite modern. To get up close to ancient Egyptian monuments and relics, the best city to visit would be Luxor.
Another Egyptian city that is beautiful, modern, and exciting is Hurghada. Along with out-of-the way hotels, resorts, restaurants, and beaches, this destination also offers golf, boating, casinos, and a variety of water sports. Aswan is beautiful and home to Lake Nasser and finally, Sharm El Sheikh would make an excellent choice of exotic vacations, home to the famous Sharks Bay.
