To enjoy an amazing vacation does not automatically mean you have to spend a great deal of money. In fact, some of the best vacations are those that do cost much. Instead of planning your next vacation in one of the more expensive vacation destinations, we wanted to show you how you can use cheap travel destinations to experience new things, see different sites, and have a great vacation. The following are some excellent options for several different areas around the world.
Europe
If you have your heart set on visiting Europe but you believe the cost of getting there is outside your budget, you may be surprised. The key is choosing the right destinations in Europe so you could get a feel for the rich history but without spending a fortune. For instance, Romania is a gorgeous part of Europe with beautiful landscapes. The best way to enjoy Romania on a budget is to stay at any of the managed campsites and then for activities, spend time sightseeing to medieval churches, monasteries, or you could hike in the Carpathian Mountains. However, if you prefer to stay in a hotel, decent hotels in Romania are as low as $10 a night.
New Zealand is another cheap travel destination in Europe that is beautiful. The people of New Zealand are friendly and for things to do there are wonderful museums and a variety of waterways such as lakes and canals. On average, you would only spend $20 a night on hotels and have the ability to get a great meal for less than $5.
Latin America
Another part of the world considered among the best cheap travel destinations is Latin America. For instance, you could get a nice hotel room for around $20 a night in Ecuador and a delicious meal for only $3. The great thing about this particular destination is that while the country is very cheap, it is rich on culture and natural points of interest such as volcanoes, forests, lakes, etc.
Honduras is also a cheap travel destination if you want something with a tropical feel. Throughout the country are historic Mayan ruins, cloud forests, national parks, and incredible scuba diving. Hotel rooms cost between $15 and $20 a night and for food and transportation, you would pay very little.
Africa
Even some areas of Africa are considered cheap travel destinations such as Morocco. This country is known for its rich history and culture, which has landed it on the UNESCO list of heritage sites. Both accommodations and food are inexpensive but comfortable and delicious. However, Morocco also provides a nice variety of things to do and see.
Asia
Of course, we cannot overlook the possibilities in Asia. Although some regions are expensive, others to include Thailand are very cost-efficient. In fact, you could easily dine in four or five-star restaurants while enjoying the unique flavors and pay only $25 a day! Then for hotels, paying $10 a night for a nice hotel room is common. To see some of the sites or shop, you could use a samlor, which is a three-wheeled transportation that would eliminate the need to pay for public rides.
Finally, Vietnam is truly a magical place. The country is gorgeous and the people are amazingly friendly. No matter where in Vietnam you want to go, prices are cheap. Hotels rarely cost more than $20 a night, meals for an entire day around $20, and a Cyclo to get around is only a few dollars.
